Ÿ Tremaine D. Miller, 27, of the 300 block of Watress Place in Elgin, appeared in bond court Monday on charges of injuring a police officer, a felony, and endangering the life of a child, a misdemeanor, according to court documents. Elgin police responded at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday to find Miller under the influence of alcohol and lighting explosives close to his son and other homes, according to police and court documents. The felony charge, which stems from resisting arrest, came after Miller kicked, pulled and struck an officer, court documents said. Bail was set at $30,000 Monday, of which Miller must pay 10 percent to be released before his next court date, scheduled for June 29 in St. Charles.

Ÿ The rear driver’s side cargo window of a 1999 Honda Passport was shattered sometime between 11 p.m. Saturday and 12:30 p.m. Sunday while it was parked in the 600 block of Preston Avenue in Elgin, police reports said. There was also a small dent between the rear door and broken window, but nothing was taken from the vehicle, reports said.

Ÿ Elgin police responded to a reported burglary shortly after 5:30 p.m. Monday at Century Oaks Elementary School, 1235 Braeburn Drive, Elgin, a report said. Three young people were seen running out of the building toward a door in the area of a broken window, but employees were unsure if anything had been stolen, reports said.
