Liberty Bash held, hardly anyone came

The Support Your Troops or “Liberty Bash” in Bartlett was sponsored by the Hanover Township administration to support the troops and the veterans. The two days of this activity took place Friday, June 10 and Saturday, June 11, giving (vets) the opportunity to make one of them.

The township was gracious enough to put up a VIP tent offering free beer, free food and free entertainment.

I thought we would see a lot of veterans there. The beer was good, the food was excellent and the entertainment was great.

How do you think Brian McGuire and his staff felt to see such a low turnout? Don’t forget the entertainers did this for nothing for the troops. Another thing to look at — they were collecting food for our troops over there fighting for us.

A large amount of money was spent to put this over, and for myself I am disappointed, too. For such a small favor of inviting you to this affair, then the no shows, tells me that if I ever hear any veteran say there is nothing for them, I will gently say, “There was, and you were not there.”
