Schaumburg Summer Breeze concerts return

Schaumburg’s Summer Breeze Concert Series will soon return, again bringing cool relief to the hottest part of the season.

Organized by the Schaumburg Park District and held lakeside on Schaumburg’s municipal grounds at Schaumburg Court and Summit Drive, the free concerts will be held at 7 p.m. on select Saturdays.

The performance schedule for this year is The Neverly Brothers on July 9; Salute to ABBA on July 16; The Connexion Band on July 23; Midway Ramblers Aug. 13; Rio Bamba Aug. 20; and Frank Winkler and the Symphonic Pops Orchestra Aug. 27.

The Neverly Brothers provide a unique take on the sounds of the ‘50s and ‘60s, with a repertoire of hits by Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Buddy Holly, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and the Dave Clark Five.

Salute to ABBA presents a Las Vegas-type show that’s been described as the most accurate ABBA tribute band in the country.

The Connexion Band plays a mix of music from the ‘70s through the ‘90s with two female and two male vocalists, as well as five of Chicago’s top studio musicians.

Midway Ramblers bring an evening of southwest Louisiana music, from the traditions of Cajun and Creole to high energy Zydeco with some Swamp Pop thrown in.

Rio Bamba performs a blend of Bossa Nova, Samba, Brazilian, Latin and American Jazz. Frank Winkler and the Symphonic Pops Orchestra have been performing at Summer Breeze for more than 20 years, with an evening of Broadway favorites and light classics. The orchestra features vocalists and a 35-piece ensemble.

Pets are not permitted on the grounds during any Summer Breeze concerts.
