Kubrick’s films together in new collection

“Stanley Kubrick: The Essential Collection”

Stanley Kubrick is considered one of the most talented filmmakers in the history of cinema. He not only directed films, he wrote, produced and was a world-famous photographer. His films carried his visual style and technique, and he pioneered many aspects of making films that are used today.

He only made 13 films, but he influenced great directors such as Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, James Cameron and others.

This 10-disc collection features nine of Kubrick’s films and a bonus documentary. The films are: “2001: A Space Odyssey,” “A Clockwork Orange,” “Barry Lyndon,” “Dr. Strangelove,” “Eyes Wide Shut,” “Full Metal Jacket,” “Lolita,” “Spartacus” and “The Shining.” Included is a book that gives details of all the films, and the special features provide commentaries, documentaries, trailers, production notes and more.

HBO#146;s #147;True Blood#148; series has developed a loyal and large fan base. The series is the cable network#146;s highest-rated show, and now fans can get all 12 episodes along with special features. The third season introduced many new characters as we watched Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) and her relationship with Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) take many new twists and turns. We are introduced to werewolves and many levels of vampires, along with regular cast members. The writing and the ensemble cast are excellent, and the intriguing storylines keep us watching week after week.
