Wheaton man charged in pharmacy robberies

Jason A. McGee, 35, of the 600 block of Aurora Way in Wheaton, was charged in connection with two armed robberies of pharmacies in Glen Ellyn and Winfield, authorities said Tuesday.

On May 16, authorities say McGee brandished a knife and took 50 painkillers from the Walgreens at 324 Roosevelt Road in Glen Ellyn. On May 23, McGee stole prescription drugs at gunpoint from the CVS Pharmacy at 26W212 Geneva Road in Winfield, officials said. No one was hurt in either robbery.

Investigators from the Winfield Police Department developed information leading them to McGee last week, when he was taken into custody without incident by officers from Winfield, Glen Ellyn and Wheaton.
