Failed candidate sues District 46:

Unsuccessful Grayslake Elementary District 46 school board candidate Marchell Norris of Round Lake has filed a small-claims lawsuit against the officials she had wanted to join. Norris’ defamation suit against District 46 was filed May 3 in Lake County circuit court. Her complaint stems from the March censure of District 46 board member Michael Carbone. The censure resolution included an accusation Norris engaged in subterfuge to try to obtain a password to access a substitute teacher list at Carbone’s direction in February. Norris denied the claim. Officials didn’t comment when they received the suit during a meeting last week.
