LITH man in jail for threatening mom, girlfriend with knife

A Lake in the Hills man remains in jail after allegedly holding his mother and girlfriend in a bedroom and threatening them with a 13-inch kitchen knife.

Anthony Cozzi, 21, has been charged with aggravated unlawful restraint, aggravated assault, and domestic battery for the attack at about 4 a.m. Sunday morning, officials said.

Police officials said Cozzi was upset due to the girlfriend potentially breaking up with him.

He remains in McHenry County jail in lieu of $40,000 bond, of which he must post 10 percent.

Lake in the Hills Police officials said they were called to the scene early Sunday by one of the victims claiming Cozzi was threatening them with the knife.

Neither victim were injured in the attack, officials said.
