Geneva man accused of threatening school

A Geneva man has been charged with threatening a school official or school building, police said Wednesday.

Bail was set at $45,000 Wednesday afternoon for Daniel T. Diomedes, 18, of the 100 block of Caroline Court. He was arrested Tuesday, according to police.

Geneva police say that at 1:37 a.m. April 26, Diomedes sent an email containing a threat to a person who had done contract work for the Geneva School District 304. That person turned it over to Geneva High School officials.

Geneva police declined to give specifics about the threat, because the case is still under investigation.

The charge is a Class 4 felony, punishable by up to three years in prison if convicted.

On a Facebook page called “I Hate Geneva!!!,” a person using the name Dan Diomedes posted on April 17 that he had been expelled from Geneva High School.

The Geneva High School principal declined to confirm whether Diomedes was enrolled there, or what the nature of the threat was.
