Police seek Round Lake Park mother

Police are searching for a Round Lake Park mother who has been missing for nearly a week.

Melissa Ann Best, 34, was last seen by friends at 1 p.m. April 15 after she dropped off one of her two children at a friend’s house in the Rosewood Apartment Complex, Round Lake Park Police Chief George Filenko said Thursday.

Filenko said the missing woman, who stands about 5-feet, 1-inch tall and weighs about 140 pounds, was last seen driving a green Pontiac minivan with a license plate number of A 770-405.

She was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with “Chicago” written on the front, and blue jeans.

She has brownish blond hair and hazel-colored eyes.

“She is not indicative of the type of thing she normally does,” Filenko said. “We are definitely concerned.”

Anyone with information on her location is asked to contact the Round Lake Park Police at (847) 546-7275.
