• A resident of the 200 block of Valley Lane near Burlington reported on Friday that 41 unauthorized debit card charges, for a total of $1,235, had been made from Nov. 19 through March 10 on the resident's account, according to police.

• Alexander J. Saloga, 27, of the 0S800 block of Spring Green Way near Batavia, was arrested at 8:11 p.m. Saturday and charged with possession of a firearm without a Firearm Owner's Identificationm Card after authorities were called to his home, according to a police report. Saloga fired five shots into a creek into an attempt to kill a beaver.

• Someone broke the windshield on a 1994 Lincoln Town Car in the 700 block of Williams Road near Carpentersville and scratched gang symbols on the exterior between 12:01 a.m. and 5:15 a.m. Sunday, causing more than $1,000 damage, police said.

• A $300 Stihl chain saw and a set of keys were stolen between 10 p.m. Sunday and 6 a.m. Monday from a 2000 Nissan Xterra in the 17N500 block of Sleepy Hollow Road near West Dundee, police said.
