10 links Italian sausage (or cut rope sausage into 4- to 5-inch pieces)
1 large onion, cut into think wedges
1 green bell pepper, seeded and sliced
1 red bell pepper, seeded and sliced
3-5 cloves garlic, peeled and halved
3 cans (14.5 ounces each) stewed tomatoes
Italian seasoning, to taste
1½ teaspoons adobo seasoning with pepper (such as Goya)
French bread or rolls
Bring sausages to room temperature. Grill over indirect heat for about 20 minutes, turning occasionally.
Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Transfer sausages to a roasting pan. Add onions, peppers, garlic, tomatoes and seasonings to the pan. Cover and bake for 3 hours.
Serve on French bread or rolls.
