Long Grove will take old electronics for recycling

If it has a plug, it can probably be recycled.

Long Grove will host its second Electronics Recycling Collection event Saturday, April 9, at the Archer parking lot in downtown Long Grove, accessible from both Old McHenry and R.P. Coffin roads.

The event will be from 8:30-11:30 a.m., rain or shine, and is open to all Lake County residents.

Just about everything with a plug — such as computers, cameras, radios, telephones, coffee makers, vacuums, toasters, microwaves, power tools, irons, hair dryers and electric razors — will be accepted and recycled on the last Saturday in September.

No big appliances will be taken, however.

This is an opportunity to clean house of unused and unwanted electronics.

It’s also an opportunity to do so without adding to our already stressed landfills in Lake County.

This event has been organized in conjunction with the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County.
