COD's Criminal Justice Career Fair set for April 11

The Criminal Justice Career Fair will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, April 11, in the Jack H. Turner Conference Center, located in the Student Resource Center, Room 2800, at College of DuPage.

Admission is free and the event is open to anyone interested in a criminal justice career. Representatives will be available from federal, state and local law enforcement agencies; the courts; probation, parole and corrections agencies; private security organizations; college and university Criminal Justice programs; and other related career areas.

Eric Thompson, associate professor of Criminal Justice, said the fair is a good opportunity for people to meet with representatives face-to-face and learn more about the profession.

“There are so many different career opportunities within criminal justice,” Thompson said. “Bringing everyone together at one time gives attendees a chance to ask specific questions and discover what career will be the best fit for them.”

The Criminal Justice program will relocate later this year to the new Homeland Security Education Center, currently under construction on campus in Glen Ellyn. The 65,000-square-foot center also will house COD's Fire Science program, the Suburban Law Enforcement Academy and the College's Police Department. Features include state-of-the-art forensics labs, a 4-D tactical village and mock courtroom facilities.
