Wheeling's Haley Reinhart delivers on 'Idol'

No one can accuse Haley Reinhart of going down without a fight.

On a night when the Wheeling native needed to bring everything she had to the “American Idol” stage, Reinhart delivered.

Her take on Smokey Robinson and the Miracles' “You Really Got a Hold on Me” was sultry and smoky with just the right amount of rasp. Better yet, Reinhart didn't miss a note.

For once the judges agreed.

Randy Jackson, who's been the hardest on Reinhart so far, heaped on the praise.

“It started a little rough for me, but by the middle of the song the Haley we fell in love with... had come roaring back,” Jackson said.

Jennifer Lopez loved the unusual quality of Reinhart's voice. “You more so than anyone else in the competition can do whatever you want with your voice,” Lopez said. “Honestly, I think you may have the most soulful voice of anyone in the competition.”

Just before her performance Wednesday, Reinhart said her goal this week was to not land back in the bottom 3.

But Motown night served everyone well as none of the other 10 remaining Idols turned in a bad performance.

Even though favorites like Pia Toscano and Scotty McCreery weren't their usual solid selves, they'll have enough goodwill saved up with voters to make it.

And Reinhart may find herself not only in the bottom 3 — she may find herself going home.

“American Idol” reveals her fate at 7 tonight on Fox.
