Thrilling 'Tourist' now out on DVD

“The Tourist”

In this remake of the French film “Anthony Zimmer,” Angelina Jolie plays the girlfriend of a financial criminal who has swindled a powerful gangster and the people of Britain. She is a mysterious woman who is instructed by her lover to get on a train to Venice and find a man similar to him in height and stature as a way to confuse and divert authorities. She picks out Frank (Johnny Depp), a vacationing teacher from Wisconsin.

He is intrigued by her charm, and they have a connection. They get off the train and end up together in Venice. The mobsters and the authorities believe that Frank is the man that they are searching for, and the game is on. From this point on, the film becomes a little like a Hitchcock tale, with double-crosses, suspense, mystery, great cinematography and a cat-and-mouse game that is executed well. It's a great-looking film with an excellent cast. The storyline and the chemistry between Jolie and Depp will keep you entertained throughout.
