Michna, Rush tame Mustangs

MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- The Chicago Rush scored 21 points in the first quarter and went on to defeat the Milwaukee Mustangs 49-41 in the Arena Football League opener Monday night at the Bradley Center.

Rush quarterback Russ Michna completed 19 of 26 passes for 240 yards and 7 touchdowns with 1 interception.

His favorite targets were Reggie Gray, who caught 3 touchdown passes including a 27-yarder, and Charles Dillon, who also caught 3 TD passes including a 24-yard strike and gained 109 yards receiving.

The Rush's Johnnie Kirton ran for a 3-yard touchdown.

Quarterback Eric Ward of the Mustangs completed 24 of 44 passes for 296 yards, with 5 touchdowns and 1 interception.
