Mt. Prospect’s Capannari Ice Cream opening Saturday

Capannari Ice Cream in Mount Prospect will open for the season at 1 p.m. Saturday with a “Banana Extravaganza” giving customers who bring in their own banana 25 percent off a banana split.

It’s the first of several events Capannari will host this year, including the 5,000 Easter Egg Hunt, Lights Out for Earth Day, Rock-Paper-Scissors Tournament, weekly baggo tournaments, Concerts in the Park and their signature Mooovie Night series.

“Despicable Me!” will be the first movie on Tuesday, June 21, and the first Concert In The Park will be Sunday, June 12, featuring “Optical Distortion.” For more information go to www.capannaris.com.

Capannari will be open weekends in March and then daily starting April 4.
