Controversial ending

On St. Louis’ deciding goal in the shootuut, the Hawks thought the puck stopped before being shot, which is against the rules. “The puck must be kept in motion towards the opponent’s goalline,” the rulebook says.

Injury report

Hawks defenseman Brian Campbell didn’t play because of a lower body injury and is listed as day to day. Center Dave Bolland was lost in the second period after Pavel Kubina elbowed him in the head. There was no penalty.
