Adamson, Sanguinetti for Wheaton City Council

Daily Herald Editorial Board

Wheaton voters face a difficult decision on two four-year city council terms. Five candidates are running, all of whom have strengths and experience that would serve the city well. We recommend Alberta Adamson and Evelyn Sanguinetti.

Adamson, president and CEO of the Center for History, vows that she will not be a single-issue councilwoman, as the Wheaton museum she runs struggles to survive without city funding. Her record of commitment to Wheaton is clear and her promise to bring a big picture view to the council is key to our endorsement.

Sanguinetti, an attorney and local PTA member, is a fresh face with new ideas and lots of energy. We urge her to listen and study the issues carefully before forming conclusions.

The other three candidates, Derek Bromstead, Jeanne Ives and Robert Molenhouse, all have strengths worthy of consideration, but Adamson and Sanguinetti are endorsed.
