State retirees have too good of a deal

Isn’t it amazing 90 percent of state retirees get free health insurance? Our state is broke, and we are in one of the biggest financial crises this state has ever seen.

I’m retired and for two years in a row have had to take a financial hit on my retirement pay because of health insurance going up, and yet state workers get free health insurance so there is no harm to their retirement check while the state goes broke. I think it’s about high time that state workers who retire pay part of their health care coverage like a lot of the rest of us do. I would hate to see how much it’s costing the state of Illinois for free health insurance for state retirees.

I’m so sick and tired of being taxed to death in this state that I want to move out. If you have a gripe about paying your taxes for free health insurance for retirees of the state, call the governor’s office and your state representative and state senator.
