Public meeting on road improvements March 3

The city of Naperville and Naperville Township will host a public meeting on Thursday, March 3 to present proposed improvements on North Aurora Road between Frontenac Road and Weston Ridge Drive, located just west of Route 59.

The meeting will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Longwood Elementary School, 30W240 Bruce Lane. The meeting will be an open house format; no formal presentation will be provided.

The North Aurora Road improvements include widening North Aurora Road between Frontenac Road and Weston Ridge Drive to five lanes, as well as the installation roadway lighting, a multi-use path and an upgraded storm sewer system. Construction is tentatively scheduled for 2014, pending the availability of funding.

Representatives from the City of Naperville, Naperville Township, and TranSystems Inc., the consulting engineers, will be available to discuss the preferred roadway alignment and the right-of-way and easement needs. Public comments will be accepted at the meeting.

Those who are unable to attend the meeting may view the presentation materials after March 3 online at www.naperville.il.us/nauroraimprovements.aspx. Comments will be accepted through Thursday, March 17. Instructions on how to submit comments and methods available will be posted on the webpage.
