15 charged with underage drinking at Spring Grove party

Fifteen people were charged with underaged drinking after Spring Grove police raided a party in the Oak Valley Hills subdivision.

Police officials said they received a residential complaint at about 11:40 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 29, and broke up the party. About 30 people were at the party when police arrived, officials said, but added only half the partygoers were charged with local crimes.

Spring Grove Police Chief Thomas Sanders was unavailable for comment Monday on whether the owner of the home was charged or being investigated for hosting the party.

The 17-year-old male host of the party was issued five citations, including underage consumption of alcohol, allowing people under the age of 21 in a residence to consume alcohol, possession of tobacco by a minor, possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of cannabis less than 2.5 grams.

Police added that a 15-year-old girl, two 16-year-old boys, four other 17-year-olds, six 18-year-olds and one 19-year-old woman were charged with underaged consumption.
