Palatine second-grader lands part in independent film

It’s not too often that a second-grader gets to sign autographs, but that’s exactly what 7-year-old Jordyn Bolber will be up to next week.

The student at Lake Louise School in Palatine landed a part in the cast of “D.I.N.K. s,” an independent film produced, directed and written by filmmaker Robert Alaniz.

“D.I.N.K. s,” which stands for Double Income No Kids, is about newspaper writer Richard Brooks, who begins a column about the discrimination he and his wife face living childless in a community full of families with children.

Jordyn plays Becky, an annoying child in a coffee shop whose dad doesn’t pay attention to the disruption she’s causing.

From 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, Jordyn will sign autographs at the Lemont Library, 50 E. Wend St. The film’s Chicago premiere takes place Friday, March 25, at Portage Theater, 4050 N. Milwaukee Ave.

Jordyn has filmed another indie film, four short films and commercials, as well as a variety of print work. She’s also appeared in productions at the Metropolis Performing Arts Centre and Redmoon Theater.
