Should all the city be on lake water; if so, how quickly and by what process? If not, explain your reasoning.I personally believe that Prospect Heights should have lake water. It should be done as the streets are being replaced in an effort to minimize costs to the residents. I do not have a time table in mind at this time.Should Prospect Heights actively try to raise more revenue to run the city, and if so, how? Could the current budget be cut? Where?Yes, Prospect Heights should actively try to raise more revenue. The best way to generate said revenue is to bring in new business that will in turn generate new revenue. Regarding the budget, I would need to review the budget in further detail before I could provide an answer. Are you satisfied with the level of staffing in the police department? If not, describe what level of staffing the city should work toward. No I am not satisfied with the level of staffing in the Police Department. No city should be satisfied with the level of police staffing that Prospect Heights has. I do not know what the staffing level should be but I intend to find out and work toward that goal. The political culture in Prospect Hts. is poisonous. How do you, as an elected official, balance the needs and desires of people whose point of view is opposite your own? Or is that impossible? The way I understand it, the duty of an alderman is to represent the majority regardless of my own point of view. It is impossible to please all of the people all of the time and I am sure that there will be times that I am one of the unhappy ones. What should the city do for economic development? Should it focus on commercial or industrial? What is the best use of the land formerly meant to hold the arena?A good blend of both commercial and industrial is needed. It is important to bring in some commercial anchor stores that will promote the influx other commercial business. In the industrial sector it is important to play off of the surrounding industrial areas and fill existing spaces and/or new spaces with new businesses.
