Roskam’s office open after mail scare

Congressman Peter Roskam’s Bloomingdale office was back open for business Tuesday, following a scare Monday when an envelope arrived containing a gritty substance.

In a statement issued Tuesday, Roskam said his staff immediately called authorities, and both local and federal officials handled the situation on-site. Tests quickly determined the substance was harmless, the statement said.
