Former Bear, sportscaster Mike Adamle charged with DUI

WMAQ-Channel 5 sportscaster and former Chicago Bear Mike Adamle was charged with DUI after being pulled over early Monday morning in Evanston, according to police.

The 61-year-old former All-American fullback at Northwestern was stopped about 1 a.m. Monday near the intersection of Main Street and Judson Avenue, according to authorities.

Adamle, who lives in Evanston, graduated from Northwestern University in 1971 and went on to play in the NFL for seven years, according to his Channel 5 biography.

He was also the host of “American Gladiators” from 1989 to 1994.

Adamle is due in court on Feb. 14.
