Addison Parks offers trips in January

Active adults, age 50 or better, are invited to take an indoor excursion with the Addison Park District.

January trips are scheduled to Four Winds Casino Resort in New Buffalo, Michigan and a matinee performance of The Mikado at The Lyric Opera House in Chicago.

Four Winds Casino Resort features 3,000 slot machines ranging from one penny to $100 in addition to lively game tables including Blackjack, Craps, Baccarat, Pai Gow, Poker, Three and Four Card Poker. Four Winds Casino Resort is also home to the World Poker Tour Poker Room offering games and tournaments with stakes for every level of player.

Sign up today for this trip departing at 7:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 17 and returning to Addison at 5:30 p.m. The Four Winds trip is available for $35 to Addison residents or $38 for non-residents.

Experience the greatest English opera of all time, "The Mikado," in ornate splendor at the Lyric Opera House on Friday, Jan. 21.

The Addison Park District offers 10th-row tickets and transportation to the matinee performance for $110 for Addison residents and $115 for non-residents. This opera is an original romantic comedy set in a fictitious town in Japan; however it is performed in English.

"The Mikado" has been in constant production for the past 125 years due to its inherent humor and tunefulness. This opera has been adapted, parodied, referenced and given popular phrases to modern culture.
