Elizabeth Selden of St. Charles feeds her 11-month-old daughter Maya at the community dinner Sunday in St. Charles. Since April 2009, Joe Ryan and Matt Rhead have put together a free spaghetti dinner to anyone in the community. “The idea behind it is to come here relax and meet other people in your community,” Rhead said. “Community, that's what this is really all about.” They finance the dinner all on their own, accepting donations and food from area businesses and individuals but not asking anything of the people that come for the meal.
