Lake Villa reading program

Lake Villa District Library's winter children's reading program, “Stories that feed,” begins Monday and runs through Jan. 29.

The program encourages reading with a purpose and will help donate money to charity. Participants will track how many minutes they read using a special reading log. Based on the number of minutes logged, the library will donate up to $5 per participant to the Northern Illinois Food Bank. Reading logs are available at the Adult Services Desk. Participation is open to youth in preschool through 12th grade.

Children who are not yet reading, but who are being read to by others, are also encouraged to participate. To learn more, go to the reference desk or call (847) 356-7711.
