Little activity in Kane election filing

So far, nobody has filed for election to the 2nd Ward seat on the Batavia City Council.

Nobody new has filed since Monday for the city council, school board or park board in Geneva.

Elburn Trustee William Grabarek did file Wednesday for re-election.

Batavia Alderman Alan Wolff had previously indicated he intends to run for re-election in the 2nd Ward.

Candidates have until the close of business Monday to file their petitions.

Meanwhile, North Aurora reported that six people filed in November for three village trustee positions. North Aurora has the ability to have a partisan election, but candidates can also file as independents.

On Monday, seven people filed for six seats on the Batavia council. Susan Starks and Edward Tousana are running for the 4th Ward seat being vacated by Alderman Tom Schmitz. Fifth Ward Alderman Lucy Thelin Atac submitted her petitions Tuesday.

As of late Wednesday afternoon, nobody had filed for village trustee in Sugar Grove.
