Scouting report: Learning a new system and a new coach is always hard, so first-year coach Murray knows he has to be patient with his Lions. “We’re looking OK. We’re a little bit of a work in progress,” he said. “They’re working extremely hard. They’re really committed. They’ve set a high standard for themselves.” The key is for the players to get comfortable and just play rather than thinking through what they’re supposed to do while they’re on the floor. But Murray likes his players. Kretman is looking good in practice. Payne will be a nice presence inside, Kelly Urban is a big part of the Lions’ future. “We’re going to be the type of team that we’re going to need five or six kids a night to hit the scorebook and on any given night have one or two people to hit double digits,” Murray said.
