Teddy is a 3-year-old rescued thoroughbred that has a fractured bone in his right leg. He was a race horse but has since retired and will make for a good trail horse once he is recovered.

Susan Angell-Case gets a case of the giggles while moving a Christmas tree with a book cart to The Centre of Elgin from the Gail Borden Public Library Friday, November 12. Eight trees in all were moved via the carts, which was not an easy task with a bit of a breeze in the air and having to roll over uneven pavement and sidewalks. In all, 26 small trees, six large trees and two wreaths were created for the Ecker Center for Mental Healths 10th annual Festival of the Trees fundraiser. The trees will be available for purchase to the highest bidder at the Celebration Event! on Saturday at 6pm.
