Nominate someone for Arlington Heights Hearts of Gold award

Do you have a friend or neighbor you think does so much for people that he or she should get an honor?

Now is your chance.

Consider nominating that person for the “Arlington Heights Hearts of Gold” award. Nominations must be received at village hall by 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19. Nominations can be filled out online at vah.com.

Nancy Kluz, community relations coordinator, wants to make it easy for people to submit nominations and will answer questions or offer help at (847) 368-5104 or nkluz@vah.com.

The Hearts of Gold program, sponsored by the village's Special Events Commission, recognizes people who live or work in the village and whose contributions have positively affected the lives of others.

The Hearts of Gold Award categories include: Mentor, Beautification, Best Neighbor, Educator, Young at Heart, Young Champion, Volunteer, City of Good Neighbors, Pam Stocking Heart of Gold, Business Leader and Heroic.

This year's Hearts of Gold Awards Dinner will be held Feb. 12 at European Crystal, 519 W. Algonquin Road. The event is open to anyone who wishes to pay for a reservation.
