Lions add rookie QB Zac Robinson off waivers

ALLEN PARK, Mich. — The Detroit Lions have claimed quarterback Zac Robinson off waivers from Seattle.

The Lions need more depth at the position after starter Matthew Stafford hurt his right shoulder for the second time this season Sunday against the New York Jets.

With backup Shaun Hill also recovering from an injury, the Lions had to turn to Drew Stanton toward the end of that game, and they let a late lead slip away in a 23-20 overtime loss to the Jets.

Robinson was at practice Wednesday.

He was drafted in the seventh round by New England this year but was cut by the Patriots, and he didn't play at all for Seattle.
