Joe Walsh appearance Thursday

As votes continue to be tallied in the 8th Congressional District, Republican candidate Joe Walsh of McHenry is slated to be a featured speaker before a Lake County political organization at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Walsh will be featured at the Republican Assembly of Lake County meeting at the Comfort Inn, 517 E. Route 83, Mundelein, just west of where the street meets Route 45. There is no admission charge. Raymond True, who heads the conservative Republican group, said Walsh has been a longtime member.

Walsh leads Democratic U.S. Rep. Melissa Bean of Barrington in the tight 8th District race, but not all votes are counted. The RALC meeting will be in the Comfort Inn's lower level.
