Lisle teens face burglary charges

Two Lisle teens face charges of burglarizing a house in their town early Tuesday morning.

Raheem J. Martin and Laron J. Leonard, both 17 and of 2950 Burlington Ave., were charged with residential burglary and burglary to a motor vehicle, both felonies, authorities said. Martin also was charged with battery.

Lisle police said they received call just before 3 a.m. Tuesday from a man reporting two men invading his Lisle home on the 4400 block of Shabbona Lane. The resident said two male suspects forced their way into his home and choked him while demanding money, according to reports. The suspects then fled with cash, a video gaming console, a MP3 player and a smart phone.

Within about 30 minutes, Lisle police officers saw Martin and Leonard walking in the vicinity of St. Tropez and Burgundy places. Leonard was carrying a backpack, which police said contained the proceeds from the burglary.

Both were in DuPage County jail on Tuesday. Police said they are awaiting a bond hearing in DuPage County court.
