Beasley says he's ready to play

MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley says his left hip is still sore, but he plans to play on Friday night against the Atlanta Hawks.

Beasley tested his hip at the morning shootaround and pronounced himself good to go. He was injured in the first half of a loss to the Heat in Miami on Tuesday night. He missed the game on Wednesday night against Orlando.

The Timberwolves sure could use him against the only undefeated team in the Eastern Conference. They lost all three of their games on the previous road trip by a combined 94 points in games at Memphis, Miami and Orlando.

Beasley is averaging 13.8 points and 6.0 rebounds. He was off to a good start against the Heat before crashing to the court and injuring his hip.
