Marlins confirm Rodriguez will remain manager

MIAMI — The Florida Marlins have confirmed that Edwin Rodriguez will return as manager next season.

Rodriguez became interim manager June 23 when the team fired Fredi Gonzalez. The Marlins decided to bring Rodriguez back for 2011 after considering other candidates for the job.

Perry Hill will rejoin the team as infield and first base coach, the Marlins said Wednesday. Hill was with the team from 2002-06.

Five coaches from 2010 will return: bench coach Brandon Hyde, pitching coach Randy St. Claire, hitting coach John Mallee, third base-outfield-baserunning coach Joe Espada and bullpen coach Reid Cornelius.
