Naperville's Got Talent seeks performers

Naperville residents who have ever dreamed of performing on stage now have their chance.

Auditions for the first Naperville's Got Talent show will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 30 and Nov. 6, at LIVE 59, a dance and social club at 16108 Route 59, Plainfield.

Performers of all ages are welcome to try out, said Ausra Di Raimondo, publicity chairman of the Rotary Club of Naperville South, which is sponsoring the talent search along with the Interact Club of Neuqua Valley High School and the Rotaract Club of North Central College.

“We're looking for established acts, as well as high school kids,” Di Raimondo said. “We're looking for any kind of act, anything from the traditional to the unconventional.”

The “Naperville's Got Talent” show will take place Jan. 15, in Neuqua Valley High School in Naperville. Proceeds from the show will benefit Naperville-area charities.

Di Raimondo said the Rotary decided to hold the talent show fundraiser after club member Dan Richardson attended another club's variety show.

“We all thought it was a great idea,” she said.

Di Raimondo said the sponsors have put out fliers and contacted performing arts schools and media.

“We're really excited about this,” she said.

Stage lighting and microphones will be available for the auditions. For information, e-mail your name, the name of your act, age(s) and phone number to NapervillesGotTalent@yahoo.com.

Corporate sponsors are also needed.
