Bruesewitz a common sense candidate

I am writing in support of the candidacy of Steve Bruesewitz for Kane County Board.

On occasion, one meets an individual who strikes you as someone who would be an able and committed public servant. Not simply because they possess the typically heralded character traits of honest and ethical behavior, but more because they project the unusual ones, like demonstrated devotion and commitment to do the right thing, and do it well.

The only concern you have with a person of this type is “can we convince him/her to run for office?” Steve Bruesewitz is such a person and fortunately he is a candidate for The Kane County Board District 13 seat.

There is nothing fancy about Steve, but the board doesn't need “fancy.” Instead what it needs is another member who will push for open and transparent board meetings. Meetings that are conducted in such a way that the average citizen can understand what is at stake and the various factors that bear on the issues. Unfortunately, what we have today is opaque.

The board meeting minutes are incredibly vague. They contain only the barest detail of what is actually occurring. Some of the minutes are “sprinkled” with phrases like “there was much discussion and questions were asked.” Wouldn't it be useful to know what was asked or discussed?

Additionally, the meetings are typically conducted during daytime hours when most people are at work.

We don't need “fancy” when it comes to the county budget, either. Short-term planning almost always costs more. Our jail was built smaller than was needed the very day it opened.

We need some down to earth, common sense decision making. I strongly endorse Steve Bruesewitz as the sort of individual who will bring this to the Kane County Board.
