Voters: Don't be fooled by mailer against Mussman

I understand political candidates want the voters to know the difference between them and their opponent.

It is one thing to send an advertisement that questions your opponent's view on an issue, but it is quite another to send an advertisement with boldfaced lies.

I received a political mailer from Ryan Higgins that claims Michelle Mussman (56th District) “missed too many votes, including votes to reduce the sales tax, build new libraries and education centers, and improve funding for our first responders.

This piece is supposed to lead me to believe Mussman is an incumbent politician and that she has failed to vote to reduce our taxes or build new libraries, but I know Michelle Mussman has never held elected office.

I know that she couldn't have missed votes since she has never had a chance to vote on these issues!

The only people who have a chance to vote on these issues are the members of the Cook County Board and the General Assembly.

It's one thing to play with words or misconstrue a person's position, but to lie to the voters to win an election is simply shameful! The voters should not tolerate this sort of trickery and false advertising from Ryan Higgins.
