Scouting Crystal Lake Central at Grayslake Central

Crystal Lake Central (3-2, 1-1) at Grayslake Central (3-2, 3-0)

When: 7:15 p.m., today

Last week: Crystal Lake Central def. Grayslake North, 33-6; Grayslake Central def. Woodstock, 30-14.

Skinny: Having finished with just 7 wins in the last five seasons, Grayslake Central finds itself in an exciting position. The Rams are in first place in the Fox Valley Fox and are one of only two undefeated teams left in division play. Grayslake Central is 3-0 and Prairie Ridge is right behind at 2-0-"It's exciting for us because we feel like we're getting what we expected out of a lot of kids," Grayslake Central coach Nick Goshe said. "You go into a season and you think about how this kid needs to step up and that kid needs to step up and you don't always get that. We feel like this year, we're getting big contributions out of everyone who needed to give us big contributions." - The Rams got plenty of contributions last week in a 30-14 win over Woodstock. Vinnie Culhane rolled up 128 rushing yards and scored on a 47-yard touchdown run. Jahard Nelson and Joey Valdivia, part of the Rams' three-heading rushing monster that has been torturing defenses all season, also scored touchdowns against Woodstock. - Crystal Lake Central has a lethal running back of its own. Junior Gage Harrah rolled up 214 yards on just 17 carries and scored 2 touchdowns last week against Grayslake North. "We've heard a lot about him and he's everything he's cracked up to be," Goshe said of Harrah. "He's strong and he's a wrestler and you really have to come in masses against him. With a guy like Harrah, you can't go 1-on-1 with him, you need to bring two or three guys. You need to gang tackle and you need to come in waves."
