'Jersey Boys' members to perform in Addison
Anyone wanting to enjoy a great performance, see the freshly renovated auditorium of Addison Trail High School and tour the new home of the Addison Center for the Arts can do all three this Saturday.
Four cast members of the Chicago production of "Jersey Boys" will perform "Under the Streetlamp" at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, in the school's auditorium, 213 N. Lombard Road, Addison.
A performance may be added at 4 p.m. if enough people want tickets, said Mary Lou Costabile, president of the Addison Trail Athletic Boosters, which is partnering with the Addison Center for the Arts to sponsor the fundraiser.
"We're just about sold out of the 7:30 p.m. show," Costabile said. "It's an outstanding production."
Michael Ingersoll, who was Nick Massi in the Chicago production of the "Jersey Boys," along with John Michael Dias, Shonn Wiley and Michael Cunio perform '50s and '60s doo-wop, Rat Pack favorites and some special numbers. Costabile said she had seen their show at Glenbard North High School in Carol Stream.
"They got three outstanding ovations," she said.
Tickets have been priced at $30 and $40 to keep the show affordable to anyone who wants to come.
Revenues will be split 50-50 between the athletic boosters and arts organization to offset budget cuts both groups have experienced, Costabile said. Other school organizations can sell program ads and receive the proceeds.
The performance will give the public its first chance to see Addison Trails' newly renovated auditorium. Around the corner from the auditorium, Addison Center for the Arts' new home includes gallery space and a studio theater it shares with the school.
"It looks wonderful. It turned out really nice," Costabile said.
