Barrington Early Learning Center delayed

The opening of Barrington Unit District 220's new Early Learning Center will likely be further delayed until mid-October because flooring installation has been hindered by high moisture levels in the concrete foundation.

This reportedly is to be expected after such an unusually warm and humid summer. Construction of the center was previously halted due to a monthlong regional construction strike in July.

The new building next to Barrington Middle School - Prairie Campus had been due to have opened on Sept. 28.
