Dundee library offers networking for young adults

The Dundee Township Public Library, 555 Barrington Ave. in East Dundee, is about to launch a new social networking group for people in their 20s and 30s.

"The Young and the Restless" is aimed at young professionals interested in meeting up and networking with fellow consorts in their community. Activities, lectures, workshops and gatherings will be centered on relevant topics of interest to this demographic.

Events will be held either at the library or at off-site locations such as local coffeehouses, restaurants and pubs.

Following are some upcoming scheduled events:

• Tuesday, Sept. 14: Pizza and a movie, "The Big Lebowski," at 6:30 p.m. The movie is rated R.

• Tuesday, Oct. 12: Trivia at 7 p.m. at Emmett's, 128 W. Main St., West Dundee

• Tuesday, Nov. 9: Travel Savvy Lecture at 7 p.m. at the library. Learn travel tricks, products, guidelines and resources from veteran international traveler, author and photographer Cynthia Clampitt. Sprinkled with tales of adventures from Paris to Mongolia, "Travel Savvy" offers ways to save money, cut risks, reduce hassles and enjoy the road. Registration required.
