Slaying in WaukeganWaukegan police announced Tuesday they are seeking information from the public pertaining to the killing of 29-year-old woman. Amy Williams was found lying on the porch of a home in the 700 block of Walnut Street about 11:40 p.m. Monday. Police said Williams was taken by ambulance to Vista East Medical Center, where she died from a gunshot wound to her chest. Authorities said officers were dispatched to the home after receiving several "shots fired" calls. Additional details were unavailable.Car wash fundraiserLibertyville High School cheerleaders will host a car wash fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, at the LifeStorage building parking lot, 700 E. Park Ave., Libertyville. The cheerleaders hope to raise $2,000 for cheer camps, clothing and choreography for the competition season. Any size cash donations will be welcome.Circus comingAdvance ticket sales have begun for the Kelly Miller Circus, which is coming to Westfield Hawthorn shopping center in Vernon Hills. Performances will be at 2 and 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19, and 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 20. Tickets are $10 per adult and $6 per child in advance and $14 per adult and $7 per child at the door. Children under 2 are free.
