Mount Prospect looking for mentors

Mount Prospect is looking for mentors to help out at River Trails Elementary District 26 and Elk Grove Township Elementary District 59.

During the school year, mentors are paired with children, to help them toward a more promising future. Meetings are held in a group setting and the curriculum includes creative learning games, hands-on projects, noncompetitive sports and guest speakers.

Volunteers meet one night per week at a local school. Mentors are asked for a minimum 10-week commitment.

The next volunteer orientation will be held 7 to 9 p.m. Aug. 19 at Mount Prospect Village Hall, 50 S. Emerson St. Call Kim Sheagren at (847) 870-5680 for information or to sign up.
