100 riders stranded on Wis. State Fair ride

WEST ALLIS, Wis. -- More than 100 people riding on the Sky Glider at the Wisconsin State Fair were stranded for hours when the ride stopped working.

West Allis firefighters used cherry pickers and other equipment to evacuate the riders Thursday night. The Sky Glider has 160 seats that dangle from cables and carry riders high above the fairgrounds.

Fair spokeswoman Patrice Harris says the ride's motor just stopped working. The Journal Sentinel reports it took three hours to evacuate all the riders.
