Lake Forest lawyer new bar association president

Elizabeth Rochford of Lake Forest is the new president of the Lake County Bar Association, succeeding Scott Gibson of Waukegan.

Rochford, who has her own firm with offices in Lake Forest and Lincolnwood, focuses on estate planning, administration and real estate law.

A 1986 graduate of the Loyola University School of Law, Rochford served as an assistant state's attorney in Cook County before entering private practice in 1990.

Rochford is a former chairwoman of the association's real estate and wills, trusts and probate committees as well as a second vice president of the organization.

She was instrumental in creating the guardianship help desk, where people without lawyers can get assistance in establishing guardianship over minor children.

Rochford is active in the community as well, serving on the board of directors of the Mercy Home for Boys and Girls and the 100 Club of Cook County.

Also installed as association officers were Perry Smith, Jr., first vice president; Marjorie Sher, second vice president; Kevin Kane, treasurer; and Keith Grant, secretary.

Malpractice suit filedThe family of a Lake Forest man has filed a wrongful-death suit in Cook County Circuit Court against Glenbrook Hospital and five physicians.Waukegan attorney Patrick Salvi said David Timson, 56, died Jan. 2 at the hospital as a result of the physicians' failure to properly monitor his condition.Salvi said Timson developed an infection in his hip, and surgery to treat the infection led to kidney failure requiring dialysis.While still at the hospital, Salvi said Timson began to develop a buildup of fluids in his body as a result of not having dialysis for several days.Timson was given blood without the dialysis, and an autopsy revealed he died as a result of the fluid overload, Salvi said.Salvi said he is seeking substantial compensation for Timson's wife and two sons from the hospital and doctors Adela Kola, Kevin Nash, Neeno Kholsa, Jason Robin and Leonard Kaplan.The hospital and the doctors have 30 days to respond to the filing of the suit.
