The Northeast DuPage Special Recreation Association and Oakbrook Terrace Park District will sponsor a free fishing derby from 3 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, June 13, at Terrace View Park, Elizabeth Street and Greenfield Avenue, Oakbrook Terrace.
The event aims to introduce the sport of fishing to children, including youths with mental or physical disabilities.
Prizes are awarded for largest, smallest, and ugliest fish caught, among other categories.
On-site registration is permitted until there are 300 participants. Loaner equipment is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
